That's unfortunate but indeed have to stick to the rules we decided in first
place.
But we would be glad if you resubmit your project if someday it runs with a
100% libre system or if you (or someone else) is willing to make the necessary
changes so it does.
This is really hard for me to reject your project (that's not something we
frequently do) so I have one last proposal, that could be satisfying for both
you and gna: gna hosts the project but next new releases published will
address the issue of running with a free jvm (like sablevm). It does not
matter if its you that work on that aspect or someone else, it just matters
that if work is done to improve the software, the ability to run the software
on a 100% libre system is taken into serious consideration.
