Under Copyright law, there is something called fair use. This allows us to use a person's work (ie Crum's dictionary) without paying as long as it is for non-commercial purpose. Of course, if you are a commercial user then you must pay USD135 because you are profiting from it.

I don’t think you should redistribute it at all. If people want Crum’s dictionary, they can now get on Amazon for $135. It has a new copyright from Nov 2005. Regardless, of how we feel about copying (either hard or soft), it shouldn’t be done. Dear Remenkimis,
I have received several emails for the Crum, however, I cannot send
it over an email, because the maximum attachment per yahoo or gmail is 10
MB.
I think the best solution is to contact me over MSN [EMAIL PROTECTED]com,
using the new web messenger sharing folders. There I will upload it and
leave it for several days until everyone can have it.

For copyrights, I think it is not valid that we redistribute it over a
website such as St-Takla...
I am distributing it, because I consider Remenkimi a scientific community
for studying Coptic Language.

I am usually online, so please feel free to contact me over msn for the
file.
