Either the old 20 series or the newer 50 series would make good event repeaters running 20 watts.  Both are capable of running off of DC (the 20 requires a mod and a power plug, the 50 has the battery input already as it doesn't include a power supply), either one in transmit duty probably won't take more than 7 amps at 13.8.

Was curious as to what kind of Kenwood repeater can be used for mobile communications? and what kind of specs there are for them. Needing amp draw and the like for setting up a special event repeater. wouldl like to have both VHF and UHF repeaters in the van for events that need one or both. Can someone helpe me out?
