Vince,

I agree with Don's comment. I looked at the COM3010 specs, and watched the
Ramsey video, and I conclude that it is a very basic, no-frills unit that might
(I can't say will!) satisfy a first-time buyer's expectations. On the other
hand, if you already have used an IFR, H-P, Motorola, or General Dynamics
communications service monitor, you will be disappointed.

Maybe I'm just a crab, but I wonder if you'd be better off buying a good used
IFR or H-P service monitor that has more features, for about the same price.
Keep in mind that a new service monitor with a few very useful options- the
R2600D comes to mind- is in the $15,000 class. You get what you pay for! But,
hey, if you have only the basic needs for measurement of power, center
frequency, and audio deviation, maybe the Ramsey unit is ideal. Choose wisely.

Vince,

You may want to investigate getting into an IFR-1200S service monitor for about
the same amount of money. I picked one up on E-Bay for $3750.00 some time ago.

Also look at: http://www.kgelectronics.com/ <http://www.kgelectronics.com/>

He used to work for IFR and repairs / sells them. If he doesn't have what you
want he can usually find out where you can get one.

Hope this helps,
