All the connections you desire are available on the D-9 (aka DB-9)
jack on the radio. I seem to remember the the manual information
was backwards for the receiver audio connections on the DR-235
manual sheet I had.
But I was able to obtain all the needed Tx & Rx audio and logic
connections I needed through that D-9 Jack.
I seem to remember you must put the radio into the analog (not
packet mode) and tap the analog rx audio pin on the jack. One
rx pin is discriminator audio (unsquelched) and the one you want
is gated (squelched)... so be sure to look for and look at both
RX Audio sources listed on the paperwork with the radio programming
set for analog. If you don't get the expected results, toggle
the programming to the other mode and look at the same RX audio
pins.
