Feels like Oracle is becoming what Microsoft used to be (or still is). "You must buy our OS if you want to run our database in a supported fashion." Jeez, this is horrible for shops that have standardized on RHEL or SUSE for their operations. The above press release sure sounds like they're comparing apples to oranges. I'd like to see the technical document listing all the changes required to get 75% performance improvement.
