Hi Leopoldo
We have the Panalytical XPert Pro equipped with a Buehler HDK 2.4.
Regarding simplicity of operation/mounting : we have a 'support' made for our
furnace to make the mounting easier (this furnace is not really heavy but ...),
now it only takes us about 15 minutes to switch stages and get started !
Concerning the temperature stability : we done long term experiments (months)
on low temperatures ( 250 °C) as well as going as high as 2000 °C to
investigate phase transitions. You can do experiments in air or under
controlled atmosphere.
For typical data collection speed : you can measure a fairly large amount of
powder using the AlN carriers (which are mounted on the Pt strip heater), so
using the X'Celerator ...
Price/value : the HDK 2.4 is not to cheapest one but if you want to really have
a broad range of HT applications, it is really worth it !!

Hope this helps
Regards
Ann Leenaers

Subject: powder diffractometers with high temperature attachment

Hi,
May I ask your help with this not specifically Rietveld-related question?

I'm helping a colleague buy a new powder diffractometer with high
temperature attachment but I myself have little experience with this
particular attachment.

I'd appreciate if anyone could comment on the three most popular Rigaku,
Panalytical and Bruker systems that offer these attachments. Mainly:
simplicity of operation/mounting, temperature stability, typical data
collection speeds (comparing Rietveld quality data in a typical range
20-120 with/without high-T chamber) and price/value relation.

He's on a hurry so comments are welcome and will be useful before Wednesday.
Thanks in advance for your kind help.

Leo
