What type of 'grey screen' is it? There is the grey screen where the player simply doesn't turn on and the grey screen with black and clear dots.
The first (not turning on) is a problem I have had and, unfortunately, I had to send the player back to Diamond (in the uk) because it was not even talking to the usb port so i could do nothing :( I have heard the second problem (black and white dots) can be solved with a format and firmware re-install.
