Do you have any "normalize" options set in EAC when you're ripping to
MP3?
All my music is ripped to mp3 with CDEX (lame) using normalize.
Well, that's why it sounds lounder than CDs ripped to flac using EAC
without normalise.
Have just discovered Slimserver and FLAC but I don't want to rip all my
music again.
Unfortunately, once you've gone to mp3 (a "lossy" format) there's no way
to get back the information you've lost and convert to flac. Your only
option is to re-rip.
It's a bit anoying to turn up and down the volume depending on if it's
a mp3 or flac file playing then using the Random Play plug in.
You *could* enable normalisation in EAC but I would recommend you re-rip
your mp3s to flac format.
