Funny, I had the same question today as I checked out the iPod nano on
Apple's web site.

The iPod supports Apple Lossless, which I'd think might be preferred to
mp3, depending on whether you or not you need the higher capacity of mp3
and whether or not you can tell the difference when listening through
inexpensive ear buds.  Is there a converter to Apple Lossless?  I don't
recall if SlimServer supports this, as I never bothered looking before.

I dunno if I'm willing to deal with iTunes and all of the Apple
proprietary crap, though, just for the privilege of using their player.
