In any software comparison, it is only valid at the instant it is made.
In any real competition, each side adds the best good features from
the other guy's last release. So I would expect WMA Lossless to
add replay gain RSN.

I used to see this all the time when consulting about database packages.
They'd say "I have to have Oracle because only it does XYZ" or 
DB2 because of ABC. These are not wise criteria for something that
will have impact for years to come. What is important for the 
long term is the support, terms, and whether you like how
the company treats you. For a large company, once they
put out a couple of large developments, there is no way to
change.

In this space, if you have the CDs and are willing to handle them
again, you are really not all that tied in. Then again, I've got
under 1000 CDs. When we did 20,000, it took a lot of handling.
