Yes, this is true.  However, the scale of piracy was far lower...it
wasn't done via mass file-sharing (eg. Napster), it was a kid making
tapes for his friends out of his college dorm room...10 tapes would
take 10 hours to make, not just attaching some files to an email and
pressing "send".  It's the scale of what is possible now that has the
music industry with their underwear all in a bunch.

Yep, and the music industry in Asia sucked then, too.  It has sucked
for a long time.

In Asia (particularly China), it is WAY cheap, even with the album art
