My sugestion of using EAC to rip to FLAC and MP3 was based on the fact
that that is what i do :)

I have nothing against ACC lossless if you want to use iTunes to rip
and manage your library. In fact it is probably a lot easier for most
people, but i don't use iTunes so i never think about it really.

I have no real loyalty towards FLAC, if Slimdevices had chosen another
native lossless codec for the SB2/3 i probably would have transcoded
everything to that as it's the native playback that is the killer
advantage for me.

WAV files can't take ID3 tags you are correct. When EAC rips to wav it
stores the ID3 info internally before passing that imformation out to
the encoder along with the wave file. Once it is set up right you can
feed EAC disk after disk and it will que the encodings so once you have
done a pile you can walk away and leave it to churn through them. I find
it works well for me. :)
