Thanks abdomen, Whilst the info in the link refers to standardising to a reference value (83dB), it remains a shame that users aren't allowed to generate their own "comfortable" listening level for themselves... I wonder how the MP3Gain prog works around this? Where this relative level may show to be too low, is when comparing to the perceived loudness of internet radio stations... not that a random mix often contains an internet radio station (!) but changing from one "source" to another will require a volume knob twiddle - laziness at its extreme, i know!
