You are right on both points. Just edit the cmd files to produce the results you want.
I'm using "-5" because, given the size of my flac library, I want the process to finish sometime before the heat death of the universe. Also, since I _only_ have whole-album flacs, there is never any difference between album and track gain in my files. But, since my understanding of how Slimserver actually uses replay gain info is pretty hazy, I should really just skip this step. REMing out the ["%~dp0metaflac.exe" --remove-replay-gain "%~n1.flac"] line and removing the "--replay-gain" parameter from the flac invocation should speed up processing considerably. Once I get a handle on how replay gain works with Slimserver, I imagine that I'll "hand edit" the replay gain values for a few select recordings. In some cases, it's sounding like my Transporter is over-modulating in some loud passages in certain recordings. In other cases, I think I'll want to make some solo recordings of especially quiet instruments (e.g. clavichords, harps, lutes, etc.) sound quiet, irrespective of the sound level of the produced CD. -- gharris999 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30698 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
