Yes, it sounds complex indeed.  If that is how you want to do it, by all
means do.

However, would it not be simpler to convert all of your WMA lossless to
FLAC, and rerip to FLAC any of the tracks you want that you currently
have in WMA lossy?  Hard drives are relatively cheap.
