In general, to say that thing X is better than thing Y, you are saying
that on metric M, M(X) > M(Y)

The metric could be beauty, and you might say that
B(Ang. Joile) > B(Queen Elizabeth)
and while Her Majesty is a pretty nice girl she isn't now, and never was
movie star beautiful

The RedBook specs have a lot of stuff to allow "adequate" sound to come
without perfect playback of all the bits.

When you are not with the bits you love, love the one you are with.

If the purpose of a sports car is to get you arround the race track,
then faster lap times == better. But if you define that a better sports
car gets you prettier women, than maybe a Jaguar XKE is better. One of
the geeks at Car and Driver or Road and Track picked up Julie Christie
at a party in an XKE.
