Thanks for the reply.

The weird thing is that is exactly what I was doing - removing id3v1
tags and re-writing them as id3v2.  This is also occurring with FLAC
files as well.

I'm thinking this might have something to do with MusicMagic.  One of
the entries (the old one I suppose) has a MusicMagic icon next to it
and the new one does not.  When I go to play the old one, it says it
cannot find the file.

Could MusicMagic be leaving remnants of the old file in the SS cache? 
What would be the best way to check this?  Click "Do not use
MusicMagic" do a re-scan?
