The new plugin installation user interface that no one got the time to
implement for 7.0 should hopefully solve parts of this problem, if it
ever gets implemented.

The other problem is the configuration complexity, you can basically
choose:
1. To make the plugin very flexible and complex to configure and make
the advanced users happy
2. To make the plugin hardcoded and simple to configure and make the
non advanced users happy.

Personally I prefer option 1 for third party plugins, and option 2 for
core SlimServer functionality, but the result is that the non advanced
users will have a hard time to use some third party plugins.

Just so no one misunderstand me, I have nothing against including
better support for classical music in SlimServer. No one will be
happier than me if it even turns out to be so good so my plugins no
longer are needed, this would mean that I can use the time for other
things than maintaining old code. I just asked the questions to get to
know if there was some problem that resulted in that my plugins didn't
work for classical music.

Do you have any more information regarding what doesn't work the same
way as before ?

Let me know if you decide to try to get it to work and like some ideas
of what to look for.

That's correct.

I asked for interests in a Custom Search plugin some time ago but the
interests were minimal so I decided it wasn't worth implementing.
