mov123 is a little app which (upon Googling) appears to be part of
SqueezeCenter, and little else.  This

gives a bit of info on mov123.  So (I think) it's simply decoding files
that iTunes will tell you are AAC files (normally with a file extension
of .m4a) into a format that SQ can read.

I don't know if that conversion is lossless, but i would think so?!  As
an alternative, there are some current threads detailing using
faad/mplyer instead of mov123.
