With around 40k classical tracks ripped now, I've moved away from the
"opus == album" approach. I'm back to a ripped image == a cd, all
packaged in a single flac file with coverart and cuesheet embedded. I
think this is really a side effect of using this audio format, rather
than how I'd ideally like to lay out my library.

The major exception to this is with multi disc sets of, for example,
complete symphonies by the same composer where the symphonies aren't
recorded in order. In that case, I rip each symphony into a single
flac file and use the "treat multi-disc sets as a single album"
feature.

Thus, Shostakovich Symphony No. 1 gets ripped to:
Symphonies - WDR Sonfonieorchester, Rudolf Barshai - D01.flac
..with a DISCNUMBER tag of "1"

Symphony No. 2 gets ripped to:
Symphonies - WDR Sonfonieorchester, Rudolf Barshai - D02.flac
..with a DISCNUMBER tag of "2", etc.

My hope is that we'll be able to extend SqueezeCenter's db to add
sub-genre and opus support. As it stands, SC's db is just barely
adequate for classical music, imho. Because I primarily browse by
genre->composer->album, I've ripped my collection so that ARTIST or
PERFORMER == COMPOSER and try to include actual performer info in the
album title...which is far from ideal, but at least I can browse
composers and can search for performers.

I've yet to use Erland's custom browse plugin. I'm hoping that the db
will support his approach as well as user definable custom tags in the
future.
