My collection is all in FLAC, ripped using either EAC or CDex (and
occasionally, for live web-stream recordings, Total Recorder).

I've become a great fan of Pristine Audio's download service for
digitally re-mastered ancient classical music recordings (typically,
works originally recorded from about 1930 to 1950). I've bought their
FLAC downloads, at 16-bit, 44.Khz. I *think* that all my present FLAC
collection is also 16-bit, 44.1KHz (though how do you tell?).

Pristine are now offering an option of FLACs at 24-bit, 48KHz. Is
there any reason - apart for the extra cost that Pristine charges - for
*not* going this route? Will SqueezeCenter / SB3 handle these OK? Any
disadvantages? Somehow, I'm not keen to start mixing 16-bit and 24-bit
FLACs in my collection - am I just plain wrong to be reluctant?
