Not sure if relevant to *.mp4's, but I had trouble with 'band' and 'album' in a number of MP3's. Compilation albums would never list 100% properly under the same 'album'. (which what was what I was looking for) Eventually, I kind of gave up & set MP3tag to read all data but to write nothing...thus I got Mp3tag to delete all tag information. This left the bare mp3 files. Then I used Tag&Rename (but could have used mp3tag I guess) to fill in the tag information from scratch. This worked for me. (but this was with rogue MP3's where album & band were different)
