Very easy - personally I've set up ripping profiles in dBpoweramp, so I've got one lot of settings for "single-artist single disc" another for "single-artist multi-disc" etc
There's a DSP effect for ID tag manipulation, and you can use that to "delete all tags except" etc. Then with profiles you can set different tags for different scenarios.
