I struggeled with this issue as well, and found out that dbPowerAmp put "1" in disc tag even though the gui said "1/1". I noticed that all discs that had "1" in disc tag had (Disc x) appended after album title, but the ones that had "1/1" in disc tag did not.
So, check if the disc tag is "1" and change to "1/1" and do rescan in SC. Then (Disc x) will disappear. I used MediaMonkey Gold to find all disc tags with "1" in them. Hope this helps.
