For me the cost of dBpa is the same as 2 CDs or thereabouts, I don't see any problem with paying someone for work done which makes ripping my CDs easier and quicker, my time is worth much more than that. If EAC had a batch mode than maybe I would think twice, but as other posters have said the ability with dBpa to rip multiple disks at the time is a godsend to me.
