A good SC enhancement would be for SC to allow specification of an ordered set of music folders, and an option to ignore duplicate file names (ignoring the extension) in subordinate libraries.
For example, if specifying music folders: 1) c:\music\flac 2) c:\music\mp3 The scanner would add all tracks in c:\music\flac, and any tracks in c:\music\mp3 where the path (below the folder specified) and filename (without extension) did not appear in c:\music\flac. With the following files, only 1) and 3) would be added to the library. 1) c:\music\flac\Pixies\Doolittle\05 - Pixies - Here Comes Your Man.flac 2) c:\music\mp3\Pixies\Doolittle\05 - Pixies - Here Comes Your Man.mp3 3) c:\music\mp3\Pixies\Doolittle\07 - Pixies - Monkey Gone To Heaven.mp3 I do not know if anything like this has come up in development conversations.
