I’m not yet sure if that is not a MusicIP problem. I noted that MusicIP
seem to have their own »ideas« of how to do searches: »jose« will match
»Josè« but »Guns N'« will -not- match »Guns N' Roses« even if tagged so,
since MIP insists they should be spelled »Guns 'n' Roses« and converts
the Artist field accordingly. Likewise with a band called »W.I.N.D.«.
MIP blindly strips and camelcases that to »Wind« who are an entirely
different band.

We probably need to check the artist logic in SC, since I see »Guns 'n'
Roses« appear in SC even when only checking MIP for »mixable« status—so
maybe the actual Artist tag we read from the file gets overridden
somehow. Probably time for another clear and rescan … *sigh*

The Good Thing: Since we now have the »dual« way of scanning with SC
(i.e., reading the file tags directly from the files and relying on MIP
only for mixable status and the mixes), it should be able to handle the
Artists more correctly than MIP currently does.

On the other hand, I tried for some time to persuade MusicIP to please
-not- to change Artist names according to some arbitrary rules. I feel
patronized again. Maybe some users from here should help pressing them
into -not doing that silly stuff.-

I absolutely agree with »nice & easy« -search possibilities-—it’s just
great being able to type »wind« and also get »W.I.N.D.«, or type »jose«
and also find »José« and »Josè«. -But please don’t change the original
Artist Names!-
