Greetings one and all This is my first post but I have spent time monitoring and reading since purchasing my squeeze box 6 months ago. I have read the wiki "Guide to Tools" which has been very helpful in planning my music library and music format.
Before going much further I want to utilize the knowledge on this form so I'm not changing or redoing processes a few months from now so let me explain my current state of music affairs. I have a +- 300gb digital music collection of mixed file formats (flac, mp3, wma, etc). I 4TB Netgear Radynas+ contains all my music under the structure of Music>Band>Album>songs. I use squeeze center for streaming to my squeezebox and Itunes streaming services for streaming/listening on the home computers. I also have Ipods and Iphones that I download music to. After reading/researching this forum and others I am really considering a all flac format and ripping to mp3 for Ipod/Iphone support. What I'm struggling with and looking for advice on is how to organize those formats. The how to guide shows and example of library>file>type>artist>album>track - is any one using a similar format and if so how has that worked? I am also in the process of putting together my tool kit for this process and welcome any input to make this effort as successful as possible! -- redwing ------------------------------------------------------------------------ redwing's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=23218 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=58758 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
