That is true from a moral point of view, but not from a legal one :
When you use a torrent you don't only download stuff, but you also
upload it to other users, which is piracy, not matter if you own a
legit copy or not.
Here in France, uploading files is much more severely punished than
downloading them, because it's basically considered the same thing as
if you burn copies of your disc and go in the street to give or sell
them to people.
