Going back to the disc related tag mappings. 'DISCNUMBER' => 'DISC', 'DISCTOTAL' => 'DISCC', 'DISC #' => 'DISC', 'TOTALDISCS' => 'DISCC',
ALBUM ARTIST I used dBpowerAmp to tag all my FLAC files and all my tracks have the DISCNUMBER = 1/x tag turned on. I'm assuming that this translates to DISC = 1/x in SqueezeCenter. With the latest CD's I have ripped using the latest version of dBpowerAmp 13.1 Reference I found that sometimes CDs with tags DISCNUMBER = 1/1... now show CD 1 at end of Album name as they display in my SB3. As far as I can tell earlier rips with the same DISCNUMBER = 1/1 do not show this. What I find to be a bit of an issue is that the Format setting for the player is TRACKNUM. TITLE (TRACSTATRATINGDYNAMIC) not TRACKNUM. TITLE DISC (TRACSTATRATINGDYNAMIC). Does the TITLE encompass the DISC tag? I store my multiple CDs Albmum in separated folder with the - CDx at the end of the name of the folder. This allows me to find tracks faster when I navigate my folder structure looking for a track. Sometimes I use an old portable player that uses folder navigation only. I transcode a subset of my FLAC library to use in a few portable DAPs. So, a multiple CD Album looks like this in my library folder. Artist Name (Top Folder) Album Name 1 (Subfolder) Album Name 2 (subfolder) Album Name 3 - CD1 (subfolder) Album Name 3 - CD2 (Sufolder) With the format for the player as mentioned above the SB3 would display the 1. Trackname - Artist Name - Album Name 3 - CD1 (Disc 1 of 2). I want to suppress the (Disc 1 of 2) at the end. Album Name 3 is a compilation under the same artist, so the compilation tag is also turned on. In regards to 'ALBUM ARTIST' => 'ALBUMARTIST' I'd like the ability to also map this tag to ARTIST because I use this tag in dBpowerAmp to name the folders after the artists names. This way I can have a single folder for an artist with regular albums and compilation albums where they are the main draw. Again, this facilitates folder navigation and keeping the ARTIST tag true to the artist that plays in a track within the compilation. This allows me to also find tracks under the artist in the compilation album using tags... not folders. I don't know if what I said above or my scheme makes sense... But all I want to do is supress the (Disc x of x) from displaying. I don't want to remove the DISCNUMBER tag from my library because I use it with other programs when I search using tags description. My portable DAP has an option to supresses the DISC tag from displaying in its LCD screen. I want the same thing for my SB3. -- tamanaco ------------------------------------------------------------------------ tamanaco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=58069 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
