Correct. It only plays (up to?) 16-bit. I'm using a custom-convert.conf entry for FLAC to FLAC specifically for SoftSqueeze that converts everything via sox to 16/44.1. Using a SoftSqueeze custom entry, and possibly one for SqueezePlay as well, means your HDCD transcode won't affect the soft players. Of course, one could included your wrapper in those custom commands as well but their may be no audible benefit after downsampling. As an aside, I'm interested in why SC picks the transcode command line for these HDCD encoded files as I thought they were 16/44.1 as far as the rip was concerned. -- Mick Seymour ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mick Seymour's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21137 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57782 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
