No it doesn't.

Browse Albums forces everything exactly once into one list.
Browse by anything else, and an album can appear in the hierarchy several
times. eg. When Browse Artists, an album could appear under several artists.
An album with two genre tags would appear under both genres.

I think that if two album artists are defined, the album would appear under
both album artists in the Browse Artists list. Browse Albums sorted by Artist
would be a bit non-deterministic though - would probably sort by the first
album artist.

>ie. you can't browse at one moment by an "album artist" list, and

Browse Artists is a list of all artists you choose to see. It can be
configured to display artists, composers, conductors, bands/orchestras. It can
be configured to always show all artists or hide artists that only appear on
compilations.

If the Music Library setting "List compilation albums under each artist" was
chosen, I believe all artists would always be in the list, so frank_from_hh
would see both the artist's and the album artist in the list.

Yes, I can recommend Custom Browse. You can choose what menus you want for
browsing your music library. Have one to list all artists, another to list
only album aritsts, another to list composers, etc.
