Any reason you reripped to apple lossless? You could just have transcoded to ALAC from FLAC.
If your stuff is tagged correctly it shouldn't matter where it's stored :) There maybe a few links on ha.org about keeping two copies. First thing would be to encode it all to MP3 using fb2k or something, they it's just a matter of remembering to encode any new stuff into MP3...I have a habit of forgetting. -- probedb Paul.
