The only advantage, as far as I know, is that it appeals to my sense of tidiness: one file per CD, containing all the audio data, all the metadata, coverart, etc. With a fairly large collection approaching 1T in size, there is some slight disc space savings by having fewer files.
Re-creating the CD from the single flac is dead easy...just a simple drag and drop of a single file onto Burrrrn. I'm fairly certain that there isn't anything that I'm doing with my tagging that one couldn't accomplish in track-per-flac flacs. The main drawbacks to album-per-flacs are: 1) track replay gain is difficult to calculate and tag and 2) SqueezeServer still transcodes this format, i.e. it requires an extra process on the server side. So...any advantages are probably purely psychological. Sitting here in the nursing home with my Dad, watching him endlessly sort the same pile of junk mail over and over, I'm getting a whole new appreciation for those psychological advantages. -- gharris999 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63614 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
