I'm running a Squeezebox V3 and SqueezeCenter V7.2 (I know there are later versions, but they have more bugs than 7.2, so I'm sticking to it till someone writes a *good* player - though I'm not holding my breath!).
I previously successfully ripped DTS CDs to WAV and converted them to FLAC, and most play fine on my (DTS) surround receiver (Toslink hookup from SB3). Because I thought my PC was running much slower than it should, I recently reformatted the C: partition and re-installed everything (Win2k SP4 and applications). Big mistake! The PC is no faster, and half the apps that previously worked now don't (not as well as before, at least). Since then I've received a bunch of DTS CDRs, and did the same rip/WAV/FLAC process as before, but *none* of the DTS tracks play correctly through the SB3 (just white noise). SB3 volume is, of course, still fixed at 100%. *Older* DTS FLAC tracks still play *correctly*. I tried decoding one of the new FLACs back to WAV and doing a binary file-compare, and the round-trip WAV was identical with the original (ripped) WAV. SqueezeCenter/SB3 play the WAV file perfectly (in DTS surround) but the FLAC only produces white noise! I'm tearing my hair out! I don't know what could cause this strange behaviour, and how to fix it. Help please! :-( Daniel -- DanielTheGreat ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DanielTheGreat's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13031 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=66472 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
