Just FYI, I put this line into my custom-convert.conf:
Code:
--------------------
flc flc transcode *
# FT:{START=--skip=%t}U:{END=--until=%v}D:{RESAMPLE=rate -v %d}
[flac] -dcs $START$ $END$ -- $FILE$ | [sox] -q -t wav - -t flac -C0 -
$RESAMPLE$
--------------------
I don't want anything to be -upsampled- by SoX because my DacMagic -
unlike the TACT - does so all the time regardless of the source sample
rate. (That's not the reason why I bought it, I just found out that it
does. And upsampling twice wouldn't make much sense. Hopefully the used
algorithms by a company called Anagram are at least as good as SoX'.)
On the other hand I want SoX to -downsample- - if necessary - at the
highest possible quality.
Now what do you think:
- is the line above correct?
- is there really a danger of clipping without volume adjustment? Where
did you get this information from or did you experienced it yourself?
- should I file an enhancement bug for this or is the "-v" option too
CPU consuming?
Thx for listening to me!
