If you have a lot of ripping ahead of you then you owe it to yourself to
take a look at dBpoweramp. It does secure ripping like EAC, and takes
advantage of AccurateRip (which EAC can also do, but only if you take a
couple extra steps to enable it). Where I think dBpoweramp is really
special is its tagging. It uses multiple sources, including the
extraordinarily good AMG, and I've found the metadata it provides
almost flawless with popular music; it's not as strong with classical
because all the databases stink on classical. dBpoweramp also makes it
easy to add other tags at rip time, such as ARTISTSORT and both track
_and_album_ replay gain. EAC only does track gain.

dBpoweramp isn't free, but I think the Reference version is well worth
the US$36. There is a $5 annual fee for access to the "Perfect
Metadata" -- the first year's charge is included in the $36. It has a
free 30 day trial period. No personal affiliation with dBpoweramp, just
a satisfied customer, yada yada yada. www.dbpoweramp.com
