That's not how I read it in their WIKI: http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=Preparing_your_Music > 4. If two or more songs assigned to the Album name then have different > primary artists, then the Album name is considered to be a group of > songs from a compilation, and the Various Artists" tag is assigned as > the album artist. It says that they _assign_ an album artist to every album. When it's decided that an album is a compilation they assign the album artist for the album to be 'Various Artists'. There's no mention of recognizing the 'Various Artists' string as having any significance, but there is this: > 3. If any of the songs assigned to the Album name have an Album Artist > tag, then XBMC assumes the user knows what they're doing, and this > album is also ruled out from being a compilation. It sounds like an ALBUMARTIST/BAND=Various Artists will cause the same thing to happen as in Squeezebox Server - the album will be considered a non-compilation with an album artist of 'Various Artists'. If you still have a 'Various Artists' under V in Squeezebox Server then you haven't yet gotten rid of all the ALBUMARTIST, ALBUM ARTIST, or BAND tags containing that string. -- JJZolx Jim ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78286 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
