My music library is a mess. I started ripping my CDs 7 years ago, and ripped the first batch at 128Kbps. I then started to rip to WMA lossless - my collection is about half and half at the moment, the "archive" is managed through Windows Media Player.
I also have an iPhone, and have converted my iTunes library to AAC at 320KBps VBR. I have spent time making sure that all the artwork is present here... and because of this (and the fact that there are some itunes pruchases that will only play through itunes) I am using iTunes for my SBS installation on a NAS (although obviously not all the artwork shows up in SBS). Now, I really need to get my archive all into a lossless format, and preferably use that to play through my Squeezeboxes. Which leads to a few questions: - If I convert WMA lossless to FLAC using something like DBA poweramp, is there any loss in quality? - can I caputure the artwork that I have in iTunes? - Should I just start again? - is there any way I can ever get my encrypted tracks put of itunes? - what software should I look at to help?
