OK, I've had my first go at my new workflow, and it seems a pain ... 1- used dbPowearmp to rip the files to FLAC. Didn't seem to pick up albnum artwork for a recently re-released album... 2- iTunes could not convert the FLAC files itself 3- converted the FLAC files to 256Kbps MP3 using dbPoweramp files in my iTunes directory on the NAS 4- imported the MP3s into iTunes 5- iTunes buggered up the directory names for the albums - shortening them (is there a character limit for directories in iTunes? Or on a NAS?) - took ages to sort this out, and it seems to come through to the album titles on SBS - or is it only because I was browsing through the music folder? 6- Spotted I'd missed a track (my fault) and had to go through the whole process again!
Does this sound like a normal workflow? I admit it will get easier once I've done it a few times, but it was a right pain. Am almost definitely going to stop using iTunes in SBS in the very near future...
