Max is free and can convert anything to anything else. I'd recommend converting your WMAs to FLAC.
BTW, I've been using a MacMINI as my server for almost 4-years and it works great. Most everything ripped ALAC using iTunes but a lot of FLAC as well, especially DTS or AC3 encoded 5.1 mixes. An iMac seems way overkill as a server, unless you're going to be doing other things with it at the same time, but then you'll be sharing processor power. At less that $600 for a refurb MINI, it was a bargain. I don't need keyboard/mouse or monitor connected to is as I access it remotely for any house-keeping chores. It sits in a closet hanging off my firewall/router with a 1TB drive for music and a 2TB drive for my backups (running RetroSpect as my home network backup).
