When I first started using the Squeezebox, way back when, I started out by using EAC or some similar tool to rip my music to FLAC. After ripping quite a few, I discovered how hit-and-miss it was (at least at the time) getting accurate tags and album art - something Windows Media Player does extremely well, which is why I ultimately went to WMA Lossless. Has this gotten any better? Having to spend a lot of time goofing around with tags and album art is a non-starter for me.
My main objective is to have one less computer in my home office ... get everything onto the Mac and give my kids the old PC. You are correct that Squeezebox Server can't play WMA Lossless files on the Mac (I just tried it). Seems like my best choices are either (1) run Parallels/Windows on the Mac or (2) convert everything to Apple Lossless format. Unless someone can convince me that it's not as much of a hassle as I remember it being to get accurate tags and album art with FLAC? -- Jon ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jon's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2848 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79397 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
