You shouldn't have to do this (change track numbers). I just checked,
and I have lots of albums with the same names (greatest hits). When I
navigate via my music > album, these all show up separately by artist.
So I'm guessing there is something not complete about your tags. Double
check that all these albums have an ARTIST tag that is filled in, etc. 
I didn't have to do anything special (tell SbS to treat greatest hit
name in a special way). In fact, I don't see the option for this
anywhere, but it may be there...
