Hi folks,

I've read a lot on this forum about using Media Monkey to transcode
FLAC files to MP3 files when syncing to an iPod. This sounds like an
ideal setup for folks who have both Squeezebox devices and iPods:
maintain a library of FLAC files, but transcode to MP3 for the iPod.

My questions:

1. Does Media Monkey transcode the every FLAC file in my library to MP3
every time it syncs, or does it only transcode the changed or new
files?

2. Can I configure the bit rate of the resulting MP3 files?

3. Does it only store the transcoded MP3s only on the iPod? Or does it
maintain a separate library of transcoded MP3s to have on hand for the
next sync (which would be a waste of disk space)?

I'm trying to avoid maintaining two libraries of music. I love the
lossless FLAC, which squeezebox handles more gracefully than the Apple
Lossless (my Touch discontinues play of Apple Lossless tracks midway
through the track often enough to be really annoying).

Thanks
