It's hard for me to see why you don't use the multi-encoder function of
dbp to rip the CD and convert to MP3 at the same time, to the locations
of your choice. I have a totally basic HP desktop with a minimalist
dual core processor (way way below current standards), and there is
maybe a 5 second conversion process at the end of each track.  If that,
usually less. My files get ripped to flac and mp3 (320kbps) at the same
time.  At one point I was using wma lossless and wma, but switched to
flac and mp3.  Not that I'd ever notice the difference.
