Almost. The X server must be running on the remote machine, and it serves its GUI applications to the local window manager. They are generated on the remote server, and displayed ( to the DISPLAY variable ) on the local machine. That's why they appear to be slower, or in the case of KDE ( exceedingly network intensive ) near stopped. -- Cowboy http://cowboy.cwf1.com Give your child mental blocks for Christmas. _______________________________________________ Rivendell-dev mailing list Rivendell-dev@lists.rivendellaudio.org http://lists.rivendellaudio.org/mailman/listinfo/rivendell-dev
