Thanks for getting back with me. I didn't think of that when I made my post. Obviously, if a file originates as mp3 then it gets converted when it gets imported into rivendell.

Going to give this a shot anyway. I am basically going to copy all the audio that I need off of the old v1, and import it into v2. The good news here is I am going from 48k .wav to the same. I was just concerned about "normalizing twice" when I bring it into v2.

Again, just not comfortable with backing up audio/database from v1 and restoring to v2 at this time.

We definitely got off to a bad start with my first machine due to a variety of reasons...staff, technical, my own lack of knowledge, and the powers above me wanting to ship my first system to the other side of the country when I wasn't ready yet...but I am NOT giving up!

When you import audio, and it goes through its processes (autotrim,

or does all the processing occur non-destructively [as in database parameters]?
It depends on the specifics of the formats involves, but YES, audio can be
modified during an import (sample rate change, channelization, etc).

Cheers!
