Thanks for getting back with me. I didn't think of that when I made my
post. Obviously, if a file originates as mp3 then it gets converted
when it gets imported into rivendell.
Going to give this a shot anyway. I am basically going to copy all the
audio that I need off of the old v1, and import it into v2. The good
news here is I am going from 48k .wav to the same. I was just concerned
about "normalizing twice" when I bring it into v2.
Again, just not comfortable with backing up audio/database from v1 and
restoring to v2 at this time.
We definitely got off to a bad start with my first machine due to a
variety of reasons...staff, technical, my own lack of knowledge, and the
powers above me wanting to ship my first system to the other side of the
country when I wasn't ready yet...but I am NOT giving up!

When you import audio, and it goes through its processes (autotrim,
normalization, etc) does it actually change anything on the audio file itself,
or does all the processing occur non-destructively [as in database parameters]?
It depends on the specifics of the formats involves, but YES, audio can be
modified during an import (sample rate change, channelization, etc).
Cheers!
