How interesting that someone else is playing with AMAN setup too. I am currently having the exact same issue! My aman gui looks identical to Wayne's and I can't figure out why. Fred, is there some prerequisite we've forgotten (or is not documented) that would cause this? I'm using Debian Wheezy, but I have a client using CentOS 6 and his detects the database server and starts master/slave just fine.
