If you follow the instructions at http://static.paravelsystems.com/rivendell-install/rivendell-install-rhel7.html you'll have a functional Rivendell system based on the latest CentOS minimal operating system. I think the instructions are pretty well written, but the list subscribers and even Fred himself will likely respond to specific questions you may have.
